In the heart of the Risoud forest, the Roche Champion offers a magnificent panorama of the French Jura and its lakes.
Just steps away from the dry-stone wall that marks the border between France and Switzerland, the Roche Champion sits at 1’327m in altitude above the French village Chapelle-des-Bois. From its panoramic viewpoint characterized by a large cross, the horizon is endless overlooking the Mont Noir forest, the Lac des Mortes and Bellefontaine lake, natural borders between the Jura and Doubs departments. It is possible to access the summit on marked trails from Le Brassus (approximately 8km one-way) or from the French side.
