Occasional walkers or experienced hikers; out with your family or active adults; the Vallée de Joux offers more than 250 km of marked trails for all nature lovers.
Go for a walk, get away along the edge of the water, adventure into the woods, explore the Risoud forest, hike along the crests of Jura Vaudois or climb the summits... numerous possibilities await hikers eager to discover the diversity of the breath-taking landscapes of the Vallée de Joux...
The fauna and the flora are exceptional. Hectares of forest lands and dozens different tree species offer hikers with pleasant shade, a stunning view or the simple pleasure of strolling through the pastures in the heart of the open green spaces of the Parc Jura Vaudois.
The high vantage points that border the Vallée de Joux offer hikers unique panoramas. From the top of the Dent de Vaulion (1483m) if weather permits, you get an incredible glimpse of eight different Swiss lakes as well as in neighbouring France. Mont-Tendre (1679m), the highest summit in Jura, Switzerland dominates all of Romandie (French speaking Switzerland) and the Alps from Mont Blanc to Oberland Bernois. From Roche Champion (1327m), at the edge of the Risoud, the view plunges over the quaint villages of Franche-Comté.
As for the lakesides of the lac de Joux and lac Brenet, the beaches and forests reach out to hikers and families with a tempting invitation to kick back and relax.
