Fishing in the Vallée de Joux

Numerous fishing enthusiasts come to the Vallée de Joux to indulge in their passion in the lakes and rivers where they can fish trout, perch, pike and fera (freshwater whitefish).

There are two active professional fishermen on the lake but many fishing buffs cast their lines on the waters in Vallée de Joux. Whether you prefer fishing from the banks or out on the water, early morning or in the middle of the afternoon, alone or with a group of friends, your fishing experience will be complete.

Fishing permits are available via the Canton de Vaud website.
It is also possible to obtain a day-licence at the tourist office in Le Sentier and at the Petit Marché in Le Pont. Monthly and annual permits are delivered by the prefecture.

Fishing tackle can be hired or purchased from the Randocontes shop in Les Bioux.
In summer it’s possible to rent boats at the Altitude 1004 water sports center in Les Bioux as well as at the Thomas Locations water sports center in Le Pont.
